PRISONER OF ART 'Beautiful hand-made oversize art book + DVD hand-coloured and signed by underground UK filmmaker Jeff Keen. Released in a numbered edition of only 200 copies, this works as the perfect complement to the recent BFI box set covering Keen’s incredible DIY junk/ritual films, with a DVD that bundles a bunch of stuff not available on the BFI set (featuring 1964’s Instant Cinema, 1964’s Flik Flak, 1965’s The Games And Diversions Of Dr Gaz, 1983-86’s Blatzom, 1994’s Hamma Blatz Onata, 2006’s Eyeblaze, 1991’s Graffiko Blatz and 1995’s Artwar 3: Irresistible Attack) and a book that perfectly matches Keen’s lurid, homemade aesthetic with paste-on coloured sketches, photographs and collage work individually hand-coloured by Keen himself. Keen’s aesthetic lies somewhere between Ray Dennis Steckler, Kenneth Anger and Dylan Nyoukis and this is another dazzling flash from deep inside his own personal universe.' (review from volcanictongue.com) Prisoner of Art includes a DVD-R of short films, extracts, new soundtracks. Instant Cinema (1964 / 2007 8mm)
